Women's Soccer Opens Landmark Schedule with a Win

Box Score

Grayclynn Juckes and Alyssa Bolger both found the back of the net to keep the Susquehanna University Women's Soccer team undefeated with a 2-1 win in the first Landmark Conference game of the season as the River Hawks defeated Catholic University Saturday at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, Maryland.

The game was moved to the Soccerplex due to unplayable field conditions at the Catholic field.

Catholic (6-2 overall, 0-1 Landmark) scored the first goal of the game 11 minutes and 23 seconds into the contest. Juckes did not let the lead last for long as she scored 15 seconds later. Juckes dribbled down the right side of the field after the restart and sent a ball into the left side of the goal just inside the post.

Bolger added the game-winner in the 24th minute by beating a defender with the dribble and beat the keeper with a left-foot shot.

The Cardinals outshot the River Hawks 19-8 but the defense and keeper Julia Tolin were able to hold the lead. Tolin was credited with four saves.

The River Hawks return to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Lebanon Valley College on Sassafras Field.
