Box Score The Susquehanna University Field Hockey team dropped a second consecutive game for the first time all season as Albright scored a pair of goals in the half to post a 4-0 win Wednesday night in a non-conference game in Shirk Stadium in Reading.
Susquehanna (4-5) had won every other game all season to this point but dropped decisions to Catholic in the Landmark Conference opener over the weekend before falling to Albright (4-3) Wednesday.
The Lions scored in the first two minutes of the contest and again at the 23-minute mark to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime intermission.
In the second half, Albright added to its lead with a pair of goals in a span of 1:31 just seven minutes into the period for the four-goal cushion.
The Lions held a 21-11 advantage in shots while the River Hawks held a slim 10-9 edge in penalty corners.
Courtney Purnell started in the Susquehanna cage and made a save before Emily DiGaetano came on to play the final 45 minutes and finished with seven saves.
The River Hawks return to Landmark Conference play Saturday at Goucher College with a 1 p.m. contest.
