Nevin Hoenninger and
Erin McQuillen each scored in double figures while 13 different River Hawks got on the scoresheet as the Susquehanna University Women's Basketball team outscored Penn College 17-3 in the third quarter on the way to a 74-44 victory over Penn College Saturday evening at O.W. Houts Gymnasium in Selinsgrove.
Penn College (0-1) was able to take an early 6-3 advantage, but two free throws by

The Wildcats came right back and scored eight consecutive points to take a 14-11 lead, but a three-pointer by
Amanda Lemire and a layup by
Olivia Brandt gave Susquehanna a lead they would not relinquish.
The second quarter saw the River Hawks go on an important 8-2 run to extend the lead to double digits, as Lemire and Esposito scored every point within a five-minute span.
Buckets by Hoenninger, McQuillen and
Madi Welliver gave the River Hawks a 41-25 lead at the half while the defense improved, holding the Wildcats to 11 points in the quarter.
With no letdown, the River Hawk defense dominated in the third quarter, allowing only three points to Penn College while the offense remained steady.
Maddie Murray scored five points in the quarter to pace the team.
Leading by thirty points heading into the fourth quarter, the team used several different lineups in the closing ten minutes of play, with several different players seeing action.
