The Susquehanna University Women's Basketball team won its third straight game with a strong offensive effort in the first half and a solid defensive effort down the stretch as the River Hawks held on for a 59-55 victory over Drew University Saturday afternoon in a Landmark Conference game in New Jersey. 

Bailey Trell connected on her first three 3-pointers in the first quarter and Susquehanna (11-11 overall, 6-6 Landmark) hit nine of its first 14 3-pointers to take a 41-29 lead in the first half. 

Drew (12-11, 4-8) battled back with 26 points in the second half and hit a 3-poinetr with 2:13 to play to trim the lead to just a point at 56-55 but the River Hawks defense did not allow a point the rest of the game as Tess Nichols, Trell and Maggie Wilson hit free throws down the stretch to seal the win. 

The win streak pushed the River Hawks into a tie for fourth place in the Landmark Conference standings with two games left in the regular season. Susquehanna wraps up the regular season schedule at Scranton Wednesday before the home finale Saturday against Elizabethtown. 

Courtney Adams led Susquehanna with 14 points while Erin McQuillen added 13 points, Trell added 12 points and Nichols chipped in 10. McQuillen and Maddie Murray each had a team-leading eight rebounds and Adams added five blocked shots.
