York College, ranked No.  in the latest USILA National Poll, scored eight times in the first half to build an 8-1 lead over the Susquehanna University Men's Lacrosse team Saturday afternoon and went on to post a 13-4 victory in a non-conference game on Kinsley Field in York.

After York (5-1) scored six minutes into the contest, Chet Morgis evened the score with the first Susquehanna (3-4) goal 1:30 later.

The Spartans scored three times in a span of two minutes later in the period and then added another goal with 2:32 left in the opening quarter to take a 5-1 lead.

York added three goals in the second quarter for the seven-goal edge at the end of the first half.

After the Spartans went ahead 10-1 with a pair of goals to start the second half, James Tsilionis scored for the River Hawks to stop the scoring run.

York scored late in the third and also netted the first goal of the fourth quarter before Jake Fox scored for Susquehanna.

With 46 seconds left, York took a 13-3 edge but Matt Kosche scored just 23 seconds later for the final goal of the game with an assist from Michael Hatala.

Dylan Abplanalp, Tyler Gross and Josh Weaver combined to make eight saves for the River Hawks. Alex Weightman led the team with three groundballs and three caused turnovers.

The River Hawks will play next with a 1 p.m. game at Marymount University next Saturday in Virginia.
