Cameron Ott went 2-for-4 including a bases clearing three-run double, Cole Luzins homered for the second straight day, and Ben Burman went 4-for-5 and scored three runs as the Susquehanna University Baseball team posted an 11-3 victory in the third game of a three game weekend series against Landmark Conference opponent Juniata at Langdon-Goodale Field in Huntingdon Sunday.

The River Hawks (9-16 Overall, 5-4 Landmark) got on the board first when Ott drove home Berman, Tom Giaimo and Nick Berger on a bases loaded double in the top of the second inning.

The Eagles (8-19, 3-9) were able to bounce back in the bottom half of the inning and scored twice to narrow the lead to 3-2.

The score remained that way until Burman drove in Luzins with an RBI double in the top of the fifth inning. Giaimo followed that with an RBI single to score Burman and Susquehanna extended its lead to 5-2.

Juniata scored once more in the bottom of the sixth inning, but the River Hawks scored two runs in each of the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings to run away with an 11-3 victory.

Luzins hit a solo home run in the seventh inning with two outs while Burman and Giaimo helped add the second run of the inning by hitting back-to-back doubles.

In the eighth Luzins knocked in Ott and Craig Roumes with a two-run double and the River Hawks plated their final two runs on a sacrifice fly by Steve Lorenz and an RBI double by Anthony Dombrowski in the ninth.

Jack Kinney and Ryan Beckwith combined to keep Juniata at bay in the win. Kinney threw 5 2/3 innings surrendering three runs (two earned) on seven hits and struck out four batters. Beckwith threw 3 1/3 shutout innings of relief while also striking out four batters.

Susquehanna's hitting continues to be a strength of the team as five players had multi-hit games on Sunday.

The River Hawks return home to Bollinger Field on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. non-conference game against Neumann University.
