Box Score The Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse team stayed in contention for a Landmark Conference Tournament bid with a second consecutive conference win as the River Hawks upended Juniata 18-3 Wednesday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium in Huntingdon.
Stephanie Dowling scored twice and Caroline Rabiecki added a goal as Susquehanna (4-6 overall, 2-3 Landmark) took a 3-0 lead less than five minutes into the contest.
Juniata (3-10, 0-5) scored at the 24:57 mark of the opening half to make it a 3-1 game but the River Hawks scored the next 10 goals to take a 13-1 lead and then five more goals to start the second half for a commanding 18-1 lead.
The Eagles scored twice in the last four minutes for the final margin of victory.
In the 10-goal run to end the first half, Helena Woytovich, Rabiecki and Ali Heimer each scored twice while Dowling, Mel Barracato, Nikki Hauck and Anna Trapane each scored once.
In the second half, Heimer scored two more goals, Dowling added her fourth of the afternoon, Woytovich added a goal and Brooke Klair scored for the River Hawks.
Heimer and Dowling had four goals each. Dowling added an assist while Woytovich had three goals and an assist and Rabiecki had three goals. Klair finished with a goal and two assists.
Klair finished with six draw controls, Barracato had four caused turnovers and Libby Dex picked up six ground balls. Dex also made seven saves. The River Hawks held a 33-8 shots advantage and scored on five-of-eight free position shots.
Susquehanna will host Scranton at 1 p.m. Saturday for a Landmark Conference game and senior day.
