Box Score The Susquehanna University Baseball team jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first inning but Moravian battled back and scored single runs in five different innings to post a 5-3 win Sunday afternoon in the final game of the three-game Landmark Conference series on Bollinger Field in Selinsgrove.
After Moravian (13-11 overall, 7-5 Landmark) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Susquehanna (7-14, 3-3) struck back with three runs to take the lead.
With one out, Justin Miller drew a walk and Cole Luzins followed with a single to put runners on first and second. Ben Burman then doubled to right center to score Miller and tie the game at 1-1 while Luzins advanced to third.
Nick Berger singled through the right side of the infield to plate another run and Burman advanced to third. Craig Roumes followed with a sacrifice fly to right as Burman scored but Berger was thrown out at second to end the inning.
The Greyhounds trimmed the lead to 3-2 with a single run in the second and then tied the score in the fourth with another one-run inning.
The score remained tied until the seventh inning when Moravian led off the inning with a solo home run and then added an insurance run in the ninth.
Five different player had one hit each for the River Hawks while Burman, Berger and Roumes had runs batted in and Burman had the lone extra base hit for Susquehanna.
Susquehanna will play a midweek non-conference game at Arcadia Wednesday before returning to Landmark play Saturday and Sunday at Juniata.
