Box Score 1 Freshman Emil Vyskocil won the No. 6 singles title and teamed with Nicholas Meale to win the No. 3 Doubles bracket for the Susquehanna University Men's Tennis team Saturday and Sunday at the King's College Invitational Tournament in Wilkes-Barre.
Vyskocil open his singles competition with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Manhattanville's Nick Bongiorno and then beat Ahmed Kanan from DeSales University by a 6-3. 7-5 score in the semifinals to earn a spot in Sunday's title match.
On Sunday, Vyskocil completed the run with a 6-1, 1-1 (retired) decision over Matt DeMaria from Cabrini to win the title.
In No. 3 doubles, Vyskocil teamed with Nicholas Meale to win a second championship on the weekend. The duo earned a bye in the quarterfinal round and defeated their opponents from Manhattanville by an 8-3 score to advance to the championship match. An 8-1 victory Sunday in the title match gave the River Hawks the No. 3 doubles title.
Ryan Seibert was also a singles champion as he advanced through the No. 5 singles bracket to post the win. He opened with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Nolan Beck from DeSales and then downed Dylan Crowley from Manhattanville to advance to the championship match set for Sunday.
On Sunday, Seibert won a tough first set 7-5 and the finished off the match with a 6-3 win in the second set to win the title.
Meale was a second place finisher at No. 4 singles and Ethan Cooley took second as well at No. 7 singles for the River Hawks. In doubles play, Seibert and Ben Ornstein took second at No. 2 doubles to cap the weekend for the River Hawks.
Susquehanna is back in action Saturday at home against Lebanon Valley on the Garrett Center Courts.
