Box Score Hannah Lyons recorded 17 kills and Riley O'Dowd added 16 as the Susquehanna University Volleyball team delivered a 3-1 victory over SUNY Geneseo Friday night in the first game of the weekend at the Ithaca College Invitational in Ithaca.
The River Hawks (4-2) won for the fourth consecutive match with set scores of 25-22, 26-28, 25-22 and 28-26.
Susquehanna, who remains in the also receiving votes section of the latest AVCA National Division III poll, also had big numbers from Lindsay Pugh who registered 49 assists and 14 digs while Kasey Bost (16 digs), Kody Dillon (15 digs), Lizzie Herestofa (19 digs) and Caroline Beohm (12 digs) all had double-digit efforts for the defense.
"It was a great match against a talented and scrappy Geneseo team," said Head Coach Kuuipo Tom. "This young team is getting better and better with each match and is showing their relentless side."
Lyons added five blocks and Pugh chipped in four aces for the River Hawks.
Susquehanna continues play in the tournament Saturday with matches against Wesleyan (Conn.) at 11 am and a 4 p.m. match against Ithaca.
