LaCorte Posts Another Strong Performance as Men’s Basketball Downs Goucher

Sophomore Matt LaCorte scored 21 points and added 12 rebounds as 11 total River Hawks netted points and the Susquehanna University Men's Basketball team ran away with a 73-50 victory over Goucher College Saturday afternoon at O.W. Houts Gymnasium in Selinsgrove.

How It Happened
  • LaCorte lifted the River Hawks (12-7 Overall, 5-3 Landmark) in the early going, scoring eight of the teams' first 10 points to open up a 10-2 lead. Susquehanna maintained a comfortable edge for the entirety of the opening half, with Zach Knecht, Bryce Butler, Lukas Yurasits and Danny Frauenheim among others to get into the act.
  • After a made layup by Seth Callahan, the River Hawks opened a 31-21 advantage before going on a run to extend the lead further. Tyler Hoagland scored four points over that stretch and Susquehanna led 42-27 at the break.
  • Goucher (4-14, 1-7) cut the deficit to 12 points in the early stages of the second half, but the River Hawks quickly slammed the door on the Gopher's hopes after back-to-back three-pointers by LaCorte. Jaden Martin and Dominic Dunn continued to apply the pressure, as they scored on several occasions to open a 67-39 advantage.
  • Joel Morris and Jordan Harnum each scored late buckets as the River Hawks ran away with a 73-50 win and improved to 5-3 in Landmark Conference play.
