Koch Scores as Field Hockey Falls in Overtime

Box Score HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Sophomore Katie Koch (West Milton, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) scored her first goal of the season for River Hawks in the 2-1 overtime loss to Conference opponent Juniata College on Wednesday night.

How It Happened
  • After a tie in regulation, Catherine Lanigan scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period off an assist from Sarah Alexander.
  • The River Hawks struck first in just over two minutes into the third quarter when Koch found the back of the cage after the team forced a penalty corner.
  • The Eagles answered back just over a minute later as Lanigan scored assisted by Alexander to tie the game 1-1
  • The game remained scoreless in the fourth quarter, forcing he first overtime. Juniata scored in the overtime period to win the game 2-1.
