DALLAS, Pa. – The Susquehanna University field hockey team lost a close game in double overtime to the Cougars of Misericordia (6-5) on Wednesday evening, despite a tough effort and an early lead by the River Hawks.

How It Happened
- Mikayla Cavenas was able to score in the second overtime period lifting the 1-1 tie winning the game for the cougars.
- Susquehanna was able to take the 1-0 lead early in the second quarter as sophomore Samantha Banks (Dallas, Pa. / Dallas) scored her third goal of the season, unassisted.
- The game remained scoreless and the River Hawks took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
- Misericordia was able to score, on a penalty stroke, to tie it up in the third quarter forcing the first overtime period as neither team could score in the fourth quarter.
- The first overtime was scoreless, but the Cougars were able to score in the second overtime with just over four minutes left to play to win the game.
