SCRANTON, Pa. – After a dominating win over Juniata College Wednesday night, the Susquehanna University men's soccer team succumbed to a 1-0 double overtime loss at the University of Scranton Saturday afternoon. How It Happened
- The Royals edged Susquehanna, 8-6, in shots in the first half but Ellingworth came up with seven stops to keep the hosts off the scoreboard. On the other end of the field, Jacob Hodlofski made five saves to hold the River Hawks at bay.
- Shots were even at four apiece in the second half while SU notched a 4-3 margin in corner kicks. Ellingworth denied three more shots while Hodlofski added two more stops to preserve the scoreless draw and force an extra frame.
- Scranton was the aggressor in the first overtime period with a 3-1 shot advantage. Thankfully two were wide right and the other was turned away by Ellingworth. The River Hawks' one shot was handled by Hodlofski.
- The Royals had the only shots of the second extra frame. The first one was wide left before Michael Cortez finally found the back of the net at 104:45 to extend Scranton's unbeaten streak to five.
