Susquehanna 3, Roanoke 0
How It Happened
- The River Hawks (27-5) claimed the 3-0 against the Maroons of Roanoke College (12-13) in match one.
- In the first set, Susquehanna dominated the Maroons 25-18, putting up 15 kills Roanoke's six.
- The Maroon's were able to take the lead for most of the first half of the set but fell to the River Hawks 25-22.
- SU took set three 25-19 to win the match 3-0. The River Hawks tallied 16 kills to RC's 10 and a .412 attack percentage.
Inside the Box Score
- Rosina Esposito (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) lead the match in kills with 13 while Sydney Portale (Glen Mils, Pa./Garnet Valley) was also in double digits with 11.
- Junior Libero Lizzie Herestofa (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) lead the team in digs with 12 while Lindsey Pugh (Bear, DE. / Caravel Academy) recorded three services aces.
- Portale and Veronica Kirchner (Drexel Hill, Pa. / Monsignor Bonner-Prendergast) each had four blocks in the contest.
- Roanoke's leaders were Linsey Bailey with 14 kills, Kennedy Clemmer with 15 digs and Telia Harris with two blocks.
Susquehanna 2, Emory 3
How It Happened
- The River Hawks fell to No. 3 Emory after a tough battle taking two of the five sets.
- The Eagles edged SU in the first set 25-23, recording seven kills to Susquehanna's nine.
- The River Hawks took set two 25-21 behind 16 kills and a .250 attack percentage.
- SU again took set three 25-23 tallying 13 kills to force a fourth set.
- The Eagles took the fourth set 25-21, edging Susquehanna in kills 16 to 12.
- Despite being able to tie the set early, the River Hawks fell in the fifth set 15-9.
Inside the Box Score
- Esposito and Portale led the team in kills with 17 each while Riley O'Dowd (Montville, Nj. / Morris Catholic) was also in double digits with 12.
- Kasey Bost (Eldersburg, Md. / Liberty) collected a team-best 20 digs. Herestofa and Pugh were also in double digits with 19 and 17 respectively.
- Sophomore Kody Dillon (Bear, De. / Caravel Academy) and Pugh each had five blocks and Kirchner had three.
- Tara Martin lead the Eagles in kills with 17 while Elyse Thompson recorded a team-best 21 digs and Finn Wilkins had six blocks.
