SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men's tennis team capped off the fall portion of their 2019-20 schedule Saturday afternoon with a win. Susquehanna (5-1) notched its fourth shutout victory of the season, handing Misericordia University (0-6) a 9-0 loss for the River Hawks' third straight triumph.

How It Happened
Doubles

• Misericordia forfeited No. 3 doubles before first-years Kyle Bitting (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) and Justin Mahoney (Oxford, N.J./Warren Hills) tallied their second win of the season, dropping only one game in winning 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
• Sophomore Ethan Cooley (Califon, N.J./Voorhees) and first-year Samuel Sidle (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) followed suit with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles to send the River Hawks into singles action with a 3-0 lead.

 
Singles

• The Cougars started singles play with a forfeit at No. 6 singles.
• Susquehanna then proceeded to shutout their opponents, losing only three games in five singles matches.
• Sophomore Emil Vyskocil (Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall) faced some resistance at No. 1 doubles but pulled out a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Zack Hemond.
• First-year Joshua Sanderson (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) at No. 2, Cooley at No. 3, first-year John Duncan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) at No. 4, and first-year Conor Ryan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) at No. 5 all won 6-0, 6-0.
