How It Happened
  • Following a scoreless first half, which saw the River Hawks post a 5-1 shot advantage as well as a 7-1 margin in corner kicks, SU finally broke through when first-year midfielder Gillian Maack (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) tapped in a cross from sophomore forward Anna Werner (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) in the 47th minute for her fifth of the season.
  • Sophomore defender Marley Clendenin (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) tallied her second of the season in the 79th minute as Clendenin took a few dribbles before finishing a turnaround shot into the top left corner from about 25 yards out.
  • Drew avoided the shutout loss in the 85th minute when Julia Caracappa corralled a cross from Sydney Ziemba and slipped it past junior captain Madi Welliver (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) for her first score of the year.
  • Werner finished off the scoring for Susquehanna as she dribbled down the right side into the penalty box and polished off a laser shot into the far left bottom corner for her team-leading 14th goal of the season.
