SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Gabby Holko earned her first win as the head coach of the Susquehanna University women's basketball team Wednesday night. Susquehanna (1-1) notched its first win of the 2019-20 season in a big way as the River Hawks posted a 30-point victory over the visiting Pioneers of William Paterson University (1-3), winning its home-opener by a score of 67-37.

How It Happened
First Quarter
- Susquehanna jumped out to a 9-2 advantage at 7:27 as junior guard Erin McQuillen (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) tallied five minutes in the opening minutes of the game.
- The River Hawks never relinquished the lead, rolling to a 21-10 advantage after one quarter of play.
Second Quarter
- Vianca Soriano scored the first basket of the second frame to pull William Paterson within 21-12 before the River Hawks rebuilt a double-digit margin and headed into halftime with a 34-14 lead.
Third Quarter
- SU only outscored the Pioneers, 12-10, in the third as both sides shot under 30-percent and William Paterson knocked down its first two three-pointers of the game.
Fourth Quarter
- The River Hawks lit up the fourth quarter, shooting 63.6-percent from the field with 6-of-9 from downtown.

- Susquehanna shot 40.4-percent (23-57) from the floor for the game compared to the Pioneers' 19.0-percent (12-63).

- Junior guard Nevin Hoenninger (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) contributed eight points, six boards, and a season-best five assists while sophomore guard/forward Amalia Esposito (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) chipped in season-bests of seven caroms, seven points and two steals.
- Alisa Giordano and Yakira Rosa both scored 10 points to lead the Pioneers while Soriano and Allison McBride each hauled in a game-and team-best seven rebounds.
