SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Three different River Hawks scored in double digits Saturday night as the Susquehanna University women's basketball team notched their second consecutive win on the first night of the Susquehanna Trailways Tip-Off Tournament. Susquehanna (2-1) outscored York (N.Y.) College (0-2), 51-23, in the second half to lock up a 76-49 victory to advance to Sunday's championship game.
The River Hawks will now face the College of Saint Elizabeth Eagles (3-2) in the championship game on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Saint Elizabeth picked up a 64-53 win over Penn College (0-3) for its spot in the title game. York and Penn College will square off in the consolation game at 1:00 p.m.

How It Happened
First Quarter
- Junior guard Erin McQuillen (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) tallied the first five points of the game in the first 37 seconds to set the tone of the game in favor of Susquehanna as the River Hawks would never relinquish the lead.
- Though the Cardinals shot 50-percent in the first 10 minutes, SU earned a 21-15 advantage capitalizing six points off of 10 York turnovers. McQuillen led all scorers with eight.
Second Quarter
- Sophomore guard Sadie Comfort (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) knocked down a three-ball to put the River Hawks up by seven at the 9:35.
- York worked its way back into the game, closing the gap to four twice over the next seven minutes, but the hosts would close out the first half on a 9-4 run for a 35-26 advantage at the break. McQuillen was the only player in double digits with 12 at halftime.
Third Quarter
- After just outscoring the Cardinals, 16-12, in the paint in the first half, Susquehanna revved up its action in the paint by a 12-4 margin as the River Hawks generated a permanent double-digit lead midway through the quarter.
- Sophomore guard Amanda Lemire (Auburn, N.H./Pinkerton) drained a three-pointer with 33 seconds left to give SU a 21-point lead, its biggest lead of the quarter. Lemire led all players with seven third-quarter points.
Fourth Quarter
- The River Hawks used an 11-0 run early in the fourth to put the game out of reach, leading 70-45 with 4:00 left in the game. Junior forward Taylor Evans (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township), who gave SU its biggest lead of the game (29) at 1:28, finished with six points off the bench.

- Following a slow start in the paint, Susquehanna outscored the Cardinals, 40-22, down low.
- The River Hawks shot 39.7-percent (29-73) from the floor for the game, including a blistering 52.6-percent in the quarter, on their way to a season-high 76 points.
- For the second straight game, Susquehanna held its opponent to a shooting percentage under 30-percent as York shot 17-of-63 for 27-percent.
- The River Hawks forced York into 25 turnovers and capitalized with 18 points off those miscues while giving up just seven points on their 16 miscues.
- This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
Top Performers
- McQuillen led the trio of River Hawk double-digit scorers with 15 while adding six rebounds and two steals.
- Junior guard Nevin Hoenninger (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) contributed 14 points, seven boards, a season-best six assists, and a season-high three steals.
- Comfort finished with 11 points and three caroms off the bench while sophomore forward Olivia Brandt (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go along with six points and three steals.
- Mac-Dege Dessources highlighted the Cardinals' performance with a double-double of 17 boards and 15 points.
