Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Dunn’s 24 Points Not Enough as Men’s Basketball Falls to Drew

Dominic Dunn scored 24 points and added seven rebounds and two others scored in double figures, but the Susquehanna University Men's Basketball team had a cold shooting night all around and fell to Drew University 78-70 Wednesday evening at Baldwin Gymnasium in Madison, New Jersey.

How It Happened
  • The contest started slow for both sides, with Drew (17-5 Overall, 9-2 Landmark) hitting two shots before Bryce Butler hit a jumper to get the River Hawks (14-8, 7-4) on the board. Drew carried its advantage to 14-9 before a 10-0 run by the River Hawks gave them a five-point lead at 19-14. Lukas Yurasits hit a three-pointer and Dunn scored seven points over that stretch.
  • Drew then proceeded to go on a 10-0 run themselves to take a 24-19 lead, but a layup by Dunn and a three-pointer by Butler brought the deficit to 26-24 at the break.
  • The game remained close early in the second half, with a Yurasits three-pointer and two free throws by Matt LaCorte to tying the game at 29. Drew then went on a 7-0 run to lead 36-29, but a tip-in by John Long and back-to-back threes by Danny Frauenheim and Yurasits brought it to within one point.
  • This is as close as the River Hawks would get, as the team went cold and Drew caught some life at the offensive end. The Rangers would steadily make shots, ballooning the lead to as many as 17 points. Trailing 68-51, Susquehanna would scratch away at the lead with Dunn, Yurasits and Tyler Hoagland chipping in with key points, but Drew held them off and won 78-70.
