Selinsgrove, Pa. – Solid pitching and a three-run bomb by junior
Samantha Duplissey (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) helped the Susquehanna University softball team (8-7) extend their win streak to three on Thursday afternoon with a non-conference sweep of Dickinson College (6-10). Susquehanna posted a 12-4 victory in six innings in the first game before holding on for a 2-1 triumph in the nightcap.

How It Happened
- Susquehanna jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.
- The River Hawks made it 7-0 in the second behind a two-out RBI single off the bat of sophomore Michelle Principe (East Northport, N.Y./Commack).
- Dickinson finally got on the board in the top of the third inning with three runs thanks to a pair of RBI singles and a sacrifice fly.
- SU took one back in its half of the third as junior outfielder Ellen Smith (Breinigsville, Pa./Northwester Lehigh) came home on a sacrifice fly by freshman outfielder Katie Welker (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) for an 8-3 advantage.
- Duplissey highlighted the fourth inning with her three-run shot over the leftfield fence for her first career dinger, giving the River Hawks an eight-run cushion.
- The Red Devils avoided the mercy rule in the fifth with Paige Hahn's two-out RBI single.
- Susquehanna limited Dickinson to just four at-bats and one hit in the sixth and then junior catcher Amanda Robinson (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) connected on a one-out walk-off single to hand SU the 12-4 win.

How It Happened
- The River Hawks claimed another early lead as junior outfielder Emily Lear (Elmira, N.Y./Thomas Edison), the No. 2 hitter, hit an infield single and then stole second and third before crossing home plate on a throwing error by the Dickinson catcher for a 1-0 SU advantage.
- Susquehanna doubled its lead in the third after sophomore outfielder Katherine Fahsbender (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) came home on a sacrifice fly. The Red Devils turned a double play to end the inning.
- Dickinson avoided the shutout in the sixth on Lindsey Keller's two-out RBI double to left center. Sophomore Gabby Bubba (Jefferson, N.J./Pope John XXIII) struck out the No. 8 hitter to hold the Red Devils at one run.
- The Red Devils opened up the seventh with back-to-back singles and then a sacrifice bunt put runners on second and third. Freshman catcher Katie Koch (West Milton, Pa./Lewisburg Area) tagged out the game-tying runner at the plate for the second out before Bubba pitched a game-ending ground out.

- Lear and junior captain Kasey Bost (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) both went 2-for-3 with Bost collecting her team-leading fourth double of the season.
- Junior Amanda Seckinger (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown) moved to 2-0 on the season as Seckinger scattered four hits and struck out two in 5.0 scoreless innings.
- Bubba registered her first save of the season (and fifth of her career) as she threw 2.0 innings of relief, allowing one earned run on four hits with two strikeouts.
- Gutpelet continued her strong play at the plate for Dickinson, going 3-for-4 with a double.
