Selinsgrove, Pa. – The Susquehanna University women's tennis team bid farewell to their four seniors –
Cassey Fox (Pittsgrove, N.J./A.P. Schalick),
Eliza Griffin (Pittsgrove, N.J.),
Laura Long (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove), and
Abagail Ransom (Renovo, Pa./Bucktail Area) – in the season finale Saturday afternoon. Susquehanna (7-9, 1-6 LC) wrapped up the 2018-19 season with an 8-1 loss to The Catholic University of America (6-10, 3-4 LC).

How It Happened
Doubles
- Catholic posted an early 1-0 lead with an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles.
- The duo of Ransom and freshman Haley White (Saylorsburg, Pa.) evened up the match with their 8-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
- The Cardinals took a 2-1 lead into singles action following an 8-5 win at the third spot.
Singles
- CUA stretched its advantage to 3-1 with a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles.
- Ransom battled at No. 2 singles but dropped a 7-6 (2), 6-4 decision.
- Freshman Ashlynn Searer (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) forced three sets in her matchup at No. 1 singles as Searer rallied from a 6-3 setback with a 6-4 win in the second set. Erin Cole pushed Catholic's lead to 5-1 by winning the third set, 6-4. Searer ends her rookie campaign with a team-best 12 wins and a 12-7 record.
- White fought hard at No. 4 singles, falling 7-6, 6-2 and closing out her first-year with a 9-6 mark.
- Fox also played a three-setter as she came back from a 6-1 loss in the first with a 6-2 triumph in the second. However, Colleen McLaughlin outlasted Fox, 10-8, in the tiebreaker set for the win.
- Junior Amy Jennings (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) grinded out a 3-6, 6-2, 5-10 loss at No. 6 singles.
