How It Happened
- Muhlenberg (1-0) broke a scoreless draw in the 36th minute when Erich Buerkert finished a diagonal volley from the left side into the top right corner from about six yards out.
- Chris Richards gave the Mules a two-goal cushion at 42:08 with one of his two tallies of the night.
- The River Hawks cut the deficit in half with a set piece goal as Armstrong finished off a corner kick from junior defender Kyle Trainor (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township).
- The Mules headed into the intermission with a 2-1 advantage and a 9-6 lead in shots while Susquehanna posted a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
- Goals from Richards and Kevin Hagan in the final three minutes sealed the season-opening win for Muhlenberg.
