ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore forward
Anna Werner's (Mohnton, Pa./Mifflin) team-leading fifth goal of the season was the difference Saturday as the Susquehanna University women's soccer team opened up Landmark Conference play with a win. Susquehanna (6-2-1, 1-0-0 LC), the defending Landmark tournament champions, posted a 1-0 road win over Elizabethtown College (4-3-1, 0-1-0 LC). The win stretches the River Hawks' unbeaten streak to five (4-0-1).

How It Happened
- Susquehanna struck early and then held on for the 1-0 win behind a season-best six saves from junior captain Madi Welliver (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run).
- Senior midfielder Alee Pettit (Harding, Pa./Wyoming Area) fed Werner who then dribbled in and put a shot to the right of Trinity Soto into the lower left corner at 14:15.
- Elizabethtown edged the River Hawks, 6-5, in first half shots but four Welliver saves kept them off the scoreboard.
- The Blue Jays fired off four more shots – two were turned away by Welliver and the other two were off target – in the second half.
