Portale Named All-Tournament as Volleyball Dominates Day Two at Randolph-Macon
ASHLAND, Va. – The Susquehanna University volleyball team dominated both Averett and Marymount College on day two of the Randolph-Macon Tournament Saturday morning. Junior right-side hitter
Sydney Portale (Glen Mils, Pa./Garnet Valley) was named to the All-Tournament Team as she shined for the River Hawks with 27 kills across the two matches.
Susquehanna 3, Averett 1
How It Happened
- The River Hawks (6-1) outscored Averett (0-7), 71-43, to claim the 3-1 victory.
- In the first set, Susquehanna fell to the Cougars in a close set, 23-25 recording 12 kills as a team.
- Susquehanna bounced back in set two with a dominate 25-15 victory, with 12 kills and a .296 attack percentage.
- Averett put up a tough fight in the third set but the River Hawks were able to clinch the 25-22 victory.
- Susquehanna again dominated, notching 11 kills to just seven by the Cougars to take set four, 25-14.

- Senior setter Lindsey Pugh (Bear, Del./Caravel Academy) dominated all players with 39 assists while junior libero Lizzie Herestofa (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) recorded 22 digs.
- Averett's leaders were Madison Dadez and Zamyiah Mangum with eight kills, McKenzie Miller with 26 assists, and Lauren Montren with 13 digs.

How It Happened
- Susquehanna claimed the three-set victory, outscoring Marymount 55-39.
- The River Hawks won the first set with 11 kills and an attack percentage of .154 to the Saints' 9.
- SU had 20 kills to Marymount's 11 in the second set to claim a 25-23 victory.
- The Saints posed a threat in the third set, but Susquehanna ultimately took set three, 25-22.

- Rosina Esposito (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) lead the team with 13 kills while Portale was also in double digits with 11 kills.
- Pugh collected a match-best 34 assists while senior captain Caroline Beohm (Lancaster, Pa./Garden Spot) tallied a team-best 16 digs.
- Maggie Viniard finished the match with 23 assists while Theresa Buscemi put up a team-best 11 digs.
