SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men's basketball team came out with a convincing Landmark Conference victory Saturday afternoon as the River Hawks owned a double-digit margin for the final 22 minutes of the game. Susquehanna (14-7, 7-3 LC) swept the season series with the Elizabethtown College Blue Jays (11-9, 4-6 LC) as SU tallied a 92-67 win to remain in third in the conference standings with four games remaining in the regular season.

How It Happened
First Half
- Elizabethtown's only lead of the game in the first 10 seconds of the game as Ethan DuBois scored the opening bucket.
- The Blue Jays kept with pace Susquehanna, tying the game three times in the first 11 minutes.
- SU finally created separation by outscoring the visitors, 21-7, in the final nine minutes to carry a 44-30 advantage into the locker room for halftime.
Halftime
- Wyatt Hockenberry led all scorers at the break with nine points while sophomores Danny Frauenheim (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J./Point Pleasant Beach) and Jay Martin (Columbia, Md./River Hill) each had seven in the first 20 minutes.
- Susquehanna took care of the ball in the first half, turning the ball just twice, while taking advantage of the Blue Jays' 10 miscues for 13 points.
- Both teams shot poorly from distance combining for just seven three-pointers but the River Hawks shot 50.0-percent from the field and Elizabethtown made 42.9-percent of its shots.
Second Half
- Elizabethtown notched five of the first eight points of the second half to pull within 12 but then it was open season for the River Hawks.
- Susquehanna broke the game open with a 29-12 run to lead by as many as 29 twice during the run, including 76-47 with 8:02 remaining in the game.
- The Blue Jays shot almost 60-percent in the second half but had no solution to slow down the hosts as SU earned 15 points off of 14 Etown giveaways and registered a 12-2 margin in second chance points with an 18-12 rebounding margin.
Inside the Box Score
- For the fourth time this season, Susquehanna scored 90-plus points and improve to 4-0 when notching 90 or more points in a game.
- The River Hawks collected 27 points off of 24 turnovers by Elizabethtown while posting an 18-3 margin in second chance points as SU owned a 36-31 rebounding margin for the game.
- Susquehanna dominated the paint as well by outscoring the Blue Jays, 50-34.
- The River Hawks' bench was also clutch, coming off the bench for 43 points as Martin and sophomore forward Wes Simons (Jefferson Twp., Pa./Scranton Prep) led the reserves with 11 points each.
- SU's defense silenced the conference's top sharpshooter, DuBois, as well as the league's second-leading scorer, Connor Moffatt. DuBois was held 0-fer for the game as he missed all three three-point attempts while Moffatt was limited to eight points, which is nine points below his average of 17.6 points per game.
- Susquehanna now holds an 82-66 record in the all-time series with Elizabethtown, including 12 consecutive wins. Earlier this season, the River Hawks posted an 86-74 victory over Elizabethtown away from home on Jan. 18, and with tonight's victory, SU completes its sixth consecutive season series sweep of the Blue Jays.
Top Performers
- Junior captain Matt LaCorte (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) led the River Hawks in the win with 13 points as LaCorte knocked down three triples.
- Senior captain Zachary Knecht (Parkland, Fla./Stoneman Douglas) also tallied 11 points as Knecht was 4-of-5 from the field.
- Along with their 11 points, Martin and Simons each grabbed a team-best five rebounds.
- Frauenheim finished the day with nine points and a game-best nine assists plus two steals.
- Jalin Robinson came off the bench to pace Elizabethtown with 13 points while Bryce Green had 11 points and six boards in the Blue Jays' second straight loss.
