SELINSGROVE, PA (November 19, 2021) -- The Susquehanna University football team will conclude its 2021 season Saturday, hosting Widener University (7-3) in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series in Doug Arthur Stadium for game No. 11 for each team. SU is the top seed from the Centennial Conference, while Widener is the MAC's No. 2 seed.

The contest with Widener on Saturday will be the fourth Centennial-MAC Bowl Series game for the River Hawks in program history in this the sixth year of the annual event...SU has gone 3-0 in the series, with wins over Albright College (2017), Stevenson University (2018) and Wilkes University (2019)...Susquehanna is looking to finish on a win for the sixth consecutive season, dating back to the 2014 campaign...Both of SU's losses this season came to teams that are playing in the NCAA Tournament this afternoon, as Centennial Conference champion Muhlenberg College is hosting Framingham State while at-large pick Johns Hopkins University is at Salisbury University...The River Hawks earned 14 players on the All-Centennial Conference squads, tying for the school record while setting a new record for First Team selections in a season with nine...only Johns Hopkins had more All-Centennial players than Susquehanna...Senior quarterback

The River Hawks and Pride are no strangers to one another, as former conference foes in the Middle Atlantic Conference...Widener holds a 28-13-1 all-time series lead against Susquehanna...The last meeting between these two teams came in 2006, with Widener earning a 31-14 win over SU...Widener has won the last two meetings between these two squads...The schools met every year from 1983 to 2006, with the first meeting coming all the way back on October 30, 1915 when Widener was called the Pennsylvania Military College...Today will be the first postseason meeting between the two schools.
