SELINSGROVE, PA (December 11, 2021) -- Graduate student
Erin McQuillen tied the school record for three-point makes in a game with six Saturday, scoring a game-high 18 points to lead the Susquehanna University women's basketball team past visiting Marywood University 76-42 in action from O.W. Houts Gymnasium.
McQuillen made her first six threes she took of the game, finishing 6-of-7 from behind the arc to tie five other instances where players have hit six trifectas. The last time that it happened was in the 2019-20 season, when senior
Sadie Comfort connected on six-of-12 against Drew University on February 12, 2020. The 85.7 percent shooting from deep was the second-best performance in Susquehanna history, as she was bested only by the 6-for-6 effort from Ruth Williamson on January 7, 2006 at Lycoming College.
Visiting Marywood University (5-4) scored the first bucket of the game, but SU roared back with 13 straight including a pair of threes from McQuillen to make it 13-2. McQuillen would hit another triple in the first quarter, as she scored as many points as the Pacer squad in the opening period as SU took a 18-9 lead into the second. The River Hawk lead hovered around double-digits through the midway point of the second quarter until SU finished the period on an 8-2 run to take a 37-20 advantage into the break. Senior

Isabella Schwabe added six points on 3-of-3 shooting in the stanza.
After halftime, Susquehanna continued to build onto its lead as it took a 37-point advantage won a traditional three-point play by first-year
Kenzie Selvaggi. McQuillen had nine more points in third period, once again matching the team total of Marywood. In the fourth, Selvaggi added five more points while
Grace Meehan,
Sydney Schmus and
Bri Dorsey all scored their first collegiate points for the River Hawks.
McQuillen added eight rebounds, four assists and three steals to her ledger for the day, while senior
Amalia Esposito came off the bench to post 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Schwabe scored 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting, finishing one point short of her career-high, while also posting a career-high four blocked shots on the day. Senior
Olivia Brandt added a game-high nine boards in addition to her six points and three helpers, and Selvaggi finished with a career-high eight points. Senior point guard
Amanda Lemire added a season-high seven assists in the victory, and
Madison Miller also posted two assists in just under five minutes of action.
The River Hawks assisted on 26 of 29 made buckets Saturday, while shooting a season-high 50 percent (29-58) from the floor on the game. Susquehanna was also on fire from deep in the game, going 12-of-23 (52.2 percent) from three-land. The 12 made threes were the most in a game since making 12 against Drew on February 12, 2020, while the 52.2 percent shooting from three-land was the highest since making 52.9 percent (9-17) at Drew on February 10, 2018.
Junior Savannah Purdy led the way for the Pacers with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Jade Rolon added 11 points as well for the Pacers. Marywood shot 22.5 percent from the floor (16-71), chalking up 21 offensive rebounds for the game.
