Underclassmen Shine for Susquehanna Men's Lacrosse in Loss to No. 4 Salisbury

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Three first-years and two sophomores notched at least one point as the Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team returned to Sassafras Multipurpose Field for the first time in 389 days. Susquehanna (0-1) stood strong against No. 4 Salisbury University (5-1), falling 27-4 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened
Salisbury opened up the scoring just over four minutes into the game and claimed the first period, 4-0, as four different Sea Gulls found the back of the net.

The second quarter saw the visitors add seven more scores to boast an 11-0 advantage at halftime. Senior attacker Cross Ferrara, who ranks second in Division III with 6.20 goals per game, and senior midfielder Jarrett Bromwell each had a hat trick in the first half with Bromwell adding an assist.

Salisbury scored four consecutive man-up goals after the River Hawks were slapped with a two-minute non-releasable penalty for an illegal body check.

The River Hawks started off the final quarter with back-to-back goals from first-year midfielders Cameron McKee (Bloomingburg, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep) and Jason Carey (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South).

Salisbury finished off its fifth consecutive victory with a 4-1 run.
