SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University women's tennis team (0-2, 0-1 LC) suffered their second straight 5-4 loss Saturday afternoon, dropping their Landmark Conference opener to The Catholic University of America (1-0, 1-0 LC). No. 4 singles was once again the deciding match.

Doubles
Catholic opened up a 1-0 lead with an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles before junior
Anna Ream (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) and sophomore
Chelsea Kneedler (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) knotted the match at 1-1 with an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles, improving to 2-0 on the season.
The Cardinals staked a 2-1 advantage following an 8-4 triumph at No. 1 doubles.
Singles
Catholic won three straight singles matches at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles to clinch the 5-4 Landmark win, including senior
Colleen McLaughlin fighting for a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles over sophomore
Grace Tepes (Northampton, Pa./Northampton).
Junior
Ashlynn Searer (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey),
Ream, and first-year
Julie Bramley (Elizabethtown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) all remain undefeated in singles actions following their wins at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Searer rallied from a 5-7 first set loss with 6-4, 6-3 to take No. 1 singles while
Ream held sophomore
Hanna Scali scoreless in both games at No. 5 singles.
