Selinsgrove, Pa. - The Susquehanna Men's Soccer team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday evening, downing the Hartwick Hawks by a score of 2-0.
Adrian Dilascio (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township) scored a goal in the 56th minute and
Max Paczewski (Shavertown, PA/Lake-Lehman) followed up with the nail in the coffin with his goal at the 82nd minute.
After a scoreless first half for the second game in a row, the Susquehanna attack were able to get on the board in 56
th minute.
Walter Wyatt (Edgewood, MD/Archbishop Curley) had a perfect kick from the corner that came right to
Dilascio, heading the ball in and giving the River Hawks the lead.
Susquehanna put to rest any thoughts of a comeback from Hartwick with a goal in the 82
nd minute as Paczewski had a break away from the pack, leaving just him and the goalie. The freshman was able to convert on the golden opportunity, giving himself his first goal of the season and his frist collegiate goal.
The River Hawk defense was strong against Hartwick, as the back line limited their opponents to 10 shots and only one shot on goal in the entire match.
Other Notes
- Gerrit Stech (Paradis, PA / Clarkstown North) earned his first career win in his first collegiate start at goal, as he also was credited with a shutout for his efforts in net.
- Susquehanna held the advantage in corners (6-4) and shots (13-10) in the evening non-conference matchup on Saturday.

- The Susquehanna Men's Soccer team remains at home for matchup with Lycoming in the 20th annual Battle of the Boot. Lycoming has won the last five matchups in the rivalry, with the last River Hawk win coming in 2013.
