SELINSGROVE, PA (October 5, 2022) – The Susquehanna volleyball team turned in a dominant performance on Wednesday night to continue a return to winning ways and string together their second straight conference victory, taking a 3-0 win over Moravian University.
SU set the tone early, putting a four-point run together in the opening moments of the game, with two kills from Emily Kowalski and a service ace from Jessica Sack getting it started. Moravian would hand numerous points over during the rest of the set, making six hitting errors and hitting just .086.
Susquehanna would continue to get more efficient as the match went on, improving their hitting percentage from .214 in the first set to .438 in the second and .517 in the third.
Kody Dillon turned in a standout performance, tying for the team lead with 12 kills and a .588 hitting percentage, adding three block assists, a dig, and a service ace. Fellow middle blocker Amanda Gore had 12 kills of her own with a matching .588 hitting percentage, adding three digs and a block assist. Kowalski was their next highest kill total with eight, hitting .294, adding two digs and two block assists. Emily Kyle and Jessica Sack would both tally three service aces to tie for the team lead, while Keira Roach topped the River Hawks with 36 assists.
Now 9-7 overall and 2-1 in the Landmark, Susquehanna will prepare to host the Bromwyn Keener/Amanda Swazey Superstar Invite, welcoming Neumann University, Thiel College, and Vassar College to Selinsgrove for two days of matches, beginning at 5 pm on Friday, October 7 and concluding at 5 pm on Saturday the 8th.
