HUNTINGDON, PA – The Susquehanna men's cross country team traveled to Huntingdon early this morning to compete in the Landmark Championships, hosted by Juniata at the Sunset Golf Club. Earlier this season, the team got a feel for the course and came prepared to race. Junior
Terence Grenda finished with a time of 27:08.13, making this his best finish ever for 12th place and a Second Team All-Landmark finish! Close behind with and joining him on the Second Team in a time of 27:21.04 was first-year
Evander Lackman. The two led the Runnin' River Hawks as Susquehanna placed fifth with 114 points.
The first-years continued to pour in at the top, as
Lukas VanDine posted a 27:54.78 time for 22nd and
Asa Alderman finishing with a time of 28:38.61 for 39th. Senior
Declan Griffin rounded out SU's top five with a time of 29:29.62. It ddidn't stop there, as sophomore Miach Zellers crossed the finish line with a time of 30:07.57. Juniors
Blandin Conklin and
Andrew McDowell came in strong with the times of 30:26.74 for Conklin and 30:52.84 for McDowell. Senior
Christian Calderaro and junior
Josh Kimotho raced close together with times of 31:26.66 and 31:29.39.
First-year
Kenny Battistelli raced with a time of 32:10.61, while fellow rookie
Jack Compton took a time of 33:22.97. Junior
Kareem Beck finishes with a time of 34:10.66, first-year Flinn Lehman with a time of 35:48.60, right behind him junior Jon Witcoski with a time of 36:12.89. First-year
James Dell raced with a time of 37:05.12, finishing off our men's roster.
Moravian won the conference title with 37 points, with Greyhound Nathan Hajel winning the individual title with a time of 26:08.02. Lackman ran out to an impressive start, leading the pack through the first 4K at 13:18.527.
Grenda, Lackman and the rest of Susquehanna's top eight finishers of the day will run two weeks from Saturday when the River Hawks host the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in Lock Haven, Pa.
