YORK, PA - The Susquehanna men's swim team headed down the road to York (Pa.) Friday night for a dual meet with the Spartans, earning 52 points on the day to YCP's 144. The meet triggered a busy weekend for the swimming River Hawks as they turn around on Saturday for an afternoon meetup at Messiah, beginning at 1 p.m.
The opening 200-yard medley relay consisted of
Dan Venuti,
Akira Black,
Liam Halligan and
Eskander Bierman offering up a second-place time of 1:38.00. The men made some moves over in the 50-yard freestyle where Bierman posted a second-place time of 23.13, while Black came in third at 23.34 and Halligan fourth at 23.42. Venuti earned the team's first win of the evening when he took the 200-yard IM by three seconds with a time of 2:04.96.
David Gentile earned a third-place mark in the 100-yard freestyle at 50.41, while Venuti hit the second-place mark in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:07.45. Tim Wetmore earned second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.34 as Gentile was right behind him in third at 2:24.87 and
Joey Wayne fourth at 2:31.51. The resulting 200-yard freestyle relay featured Black,
Kade Cimakasky, Halligan and Wetmore earning a second-place time of 1:33.33.
