Women Turn on the Jets in High-Octane Win over Misericordia

SELINSGROVE, PA - Following a steady opening few minutes, the Susquehanna University women's basketball team turned up the tempo on the visiting Misericordia Cougars Tuesday night in a 72-46 victory. The Cougars held a 13-7 lead with three minutes left in the first before the River Hawks delivered a 13-2 run to end the period and never looked back. Kenzie Selvaggi matched her career high with 26 points, while drilling three 3-pointers to pace the scoring in a game where Susquehanna's quick style of play resulted in 28 points off turnovers and 22 fast break points.

In all the River Hawks forced the Cougars into 23 turnovers, featuring four steals from Grace Meehan and three from Lauren Klein. The team was sound on free throws on the evening, making 11-of-13, while posting up a 42.9 shooting percentage (27-63) and 7-of-24 on threes. Misericordia, meanwhile, fared 6-of-9 from the line and had a 29.3 field goal rate (17-58) and 6-of-21 from behind the arc looking back at them. Selvaggi tied her career best in scoring with her 26-point ledger against Lycoming back on Nov. 27, 2022 by way of a 10-of-15 display from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 touch from the free throw line. SHe added three assists with two rebounds and one steal. Julia Pinckert ranked second in scoring with 11 points, connecting on four field goals with four assists and three boards, while Sydney Weyant produced ten points on the night alongside two 3-pointers.
