Men Capture Decisive Landmark Victory at Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Susquehanna men's basketball team put on an impressive performance on the road Wednesday night, powered by three double-digit scorers to secure a dominant 90-65 win over Lycoming. Brandon Lavitt led the way with a team-high 19 points, while Billy Anderson added 16 and Cooper Haberern chipped in 10.

The River Hawks came out strong, scoring 27 points in the first 12 minutes and holding Lycoming to just nine. Audric Washington and Haberern sparked the early run, with Haberern sinking three shots from beyond the arc. Though the Warriors found some rhythm in the final eight minutes of the first half, the River Hawks' relentless offense held. Haberern and Jackson Van Wagener each hit key three-pointers, while Anderson continued his hot scoring streak as of late with eight points of his own before halftime. Susquehanna entered the break with a commanding 43-27 lead.

In the second half, Lycoming's Connor Shanahan and Ivan Komitski tried to ignite a rally with three-point shooting, sparking a 17-12 run in the opening five minutes. The River Hawks' balanced offense, though, couldn't be matched. They held onto the lead for the remainder of the game, shooting 58.7% (38-63) from the field and 7-of-19 from 3-point range, along with a 9-of-12 showing on free throws. The Warriors shot just 39.7% from the field (25-of-63) and 12-of-32 from long range and 3-of-7 from the line.

Logan Rhoades also impressed for the River Hawks with nine points on three three-pointers. Van Wagener (9 points), Washington (8 points), and Steven Ressler (7 points) also contributed to a well-rounded team effort as Susquehanna cruised to victory.

Along with Satruday's win over Scranton, Wednesday's success extends the River Hawks' streak to two and improves their Landmark Conference record to 4-3 and 7-7 overall. They travel to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday for a 4 p.m. Landmark Conference matchup against Wilkes University. They are back home Wednesday, Jan. 22 against Juniata at 7 p.m.
