CHESTERTOWN, MD - The Susquehanna University men's swimming team completed their final test Saturday prior to the Landmark Championships with a non-conference visit to Washington College of Maryland.
The 400-yard medley relay kicked off the day for Susquehanna as Kaden TenEyck, Tim Wetmore, Dan Venuti, and David Gentile finished the event taking third place. The men kept the podium finishes coming, claiming another third-place finish by Keegan Pence in the 1000 yard free, showcasing a time of 11:41.89. Two River Hawks took secondnd and rd place finishes in the 200-yard free, as second place was claimed by David Gentile, posting a time of 1:56.19, followed behind by Joey Wayne, tallying a time of 1:57.00.
Event eight saw two River Hawks take the second and third place finishes in the 50-yard free. Kaden TenEyck took the silver medal, with a time of 22.62, followed by Eskander Bierman's time of 22.80. The 100-yard IM kicked off with Dan Venuti taking third place and posting a time of 58.04. The 100 yard free fared well for the River Hawks. With times of 49.50 and 52.84, Kaden TenEyck maintained his podium finishes taking second place, followed by Keegan Pence taking third place. Brandon Sutherland posted a time of 59.76, which was good enough to claim third place in the 100 yard back. Tim Wetmore and David Gentile took second and third place in the 100 yard breast, posting very impressive times of 1:05.45 and 1:05.60, respectively.
Susquehanna has nearly a two-week break as they prepare for the Landmark Conference Championships, set for February 13-16 in Baltimore, Md. at Loyola Maryland's Mangione Aquatics Center. The River Hawks placed fifth at last year's championships as the team looks to move to the top half of the conference standings.
