SELINSGROVE, PA - The Susquehanna University women's volleyball team played at O.W. Houts Gymnasium for the very first time Wednesday night when they welcomed Dickinson to the floor. Though the Red Devils won out in straight sets, the River Hawks gave them a battle in each frame, with the third and final set requiring the visiting team to edge it out by a 26-24 score.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dickinson led for most of the first set, though a five-point Susquehannna run knotted things up at 9-9. The Red Devils regained control to take a 25-21 win.
- The second game was the most decisive as the Red Devils won 25-17.
- The River Hawks stunned the Red Devils in game three, posting a game-best .289 attack percentage and inching up towards the finish line holding set point at 24-22. Dickinson, however, replied with four straight points to win out, 26-24.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Libero Jessica Sack led with 14 digs for Susquehanna, putting the senior at 1,199 for her career.
- Kyndall Mason totaled ten kills to go with two blocks.Â
- Valerie Stolts ran off nine kills with one service ace and two assists.Â
- Elliott Schleicher totaled 15 assists on the night with one service ace as Lauren Halsey finished with seven assists.
- Emma Willow and Stella Robinson each gathered three blocks, with Robinson also getting in on five kills.
- Susquehanna finished with a .189 attack percentage, totaling 31 kills with 11 errors. Dickinson responded with a .277 attack percentage, generating 51 kills and 18 errors.
