SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna defensive lineman
Galen Limantour was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a dominant defensive effort in Susquehanna's 35-10 Landmark Conference victory at Lycoming on Saturday, recording six total tackles, including four solo stops, three tackles for loss totaling 10 yards and one sack for six yards.
Limantour consistently disrupted Lycoming's offensive attack, making plays behind the line of scrimmage throughout the contest. His impact was evident in the second half, as Susquehanna's defense pitched a shutout over the final two quarters while allowing just 27 rushing yards on 22 attempts and limiting the Warriors to 226 total yards. Limantour recorded a key six-yard sack on a third-down play in the second quarter, forcing a Lycoming punt. He also made a tackle for loss on Lycoming's opening drive of the fourth quarter, helping force another punt. His three tackles for loss accounted for half of Susquehanna's six total tackles for loss in the game. With the Durham, Pa. native anchoring the defensive front, the River Hawks outscored Lycoming 28-0 in the second half to secure the 35-10 victory, improve to 4-0 in Landmark Conference play and take sole possession of first place in the conference standings.
The first-place River Hawks return home for another Landmark date against Western Connecticut State this Saturday at 12 p.m.
