Chris Pincince Named Next Head Football Coach at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, PA - Chris Pincince has been named the next head football coach at Susquehanna University, bringing more than a decade of head coaching success and a track record of sustained excellence to the River Hawks program.

Pincince arrives at Susquehanna after a highly successful 10-year tenure as head coach at the University of New Haven from 2014 to 2024. During that stretch, he compiled a 76–34 overall record, including an impressive 65–18 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10). His teams captured five NE-10 championships and earned five NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, advancing to the second round in both 2018 and 2021. Those seasons concluded with national rankings of No. 23 and No. 14, respectively, in the AFCA Division II Coaches poll.

Since 2019, Pincince's teams either won outright or shared the NE-10 title in each of five seasons (with 2020 impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic). Under his leadership, New Haven secured its first NCAA Tournament victory in 2018 with a 35–28 win over West Chester, followed by another postseason victory in 2021, a 38–13 win over Bentley. Pincince departed New Haven as the winningest coach in program history with 76 victories.

A former collegiate quarterback at Boston University, Pincince graduated in 1994 before beginning his coaching career. He served as wide receivers coach at New Haven from 1994–96, then as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Fairfield. He returned to New Haven in 1999 as offensive coordinator before later coaching at Brown and Ursinus. Additional Division I experience followed with stops at Holy Cross, Rhode Island, and Elon from 2004–13 before he returned to New Haven to take over as head coach.

Pincince will start at Susquehanna on Monday, Feb. 23.
