WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team picked up their second straight win on Saturday with a 15-6 victory at King's College of Pa. to even their record entering spring break.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pat McDermott and Matt Chubenko each led with four goals, while the first-year Chubenko added one assist to finish with a game-high five points.
- Fellow rookie Landon Lane notched two goals, while sophomore Owen Teaney had two assists and one goal for three points on the afternoon.
- The remaining goals came one apiece from Drew Filipovitz, Tyler Young, Brendan Allen, and Nick Remund. Filipovitz added one assist for a two-point day, while Brendan Gleason, Jimmy Maro, and Mikey Rowinski all added one assist.
- All these efforts helped lead Susquehanna to scoring the first three goals for a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. While the Monarchs looked to rally with two straight to start the second at 3-2, the River Hawks kept the head on with three second-quarter goals.
- Susquehanna set more distance apart with a five-goal third quarter to lead 11-6 after three, then delivered four unanswered in the fourth quarter to clinch the win.
- Goalie Jack Storipan got the start in goal, registering seven saves in 45 minutes of action. Will Harcourt came on in relief in the fourth quarter as the Monarchs were held scoreless with zero shots on goal.
- The River Hawks led 40-35 in shots and 24-13 in shots on goal. Susquehanna took advantage of one man-up opportunity on three attempts, while King's fared 2-of-4 on their extra-man chances.

- Susquehanna holds an even 2-2 record entering spring break, where they have two road games prepared at Washington College of Md. Tuesday, Mar. 3 at 4 p.m., then at Haverford Saturday, Mar. 7 at 3 p.m.
- The River Hawks return home on Wednesday, Mar. 11 against Lebanon Valley.
