SCRANTON, PA - Susquehanna posted six goals against a formidable Scranton team Saturday as the host Royals won by a 19-6 score.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Susquehanna got the first goal of the day from Jimmy Maro to take a 1-0 lead with 14:21 left in the first.
- The Royals got the next two goals before the River Hawks tied it up with Reese Ackerman's first of two goals on the day with 11:16 to play in the first.
- Scranton went ahead shortly after, but the River Hawks tied it up at 3-3 thanks to Pat McDermott's equalizer from a Jimmy Maro assist.
- This would be Susquehanna's last goal for a while as the Royals reeled off seven consecutive goals to take a 10-3 lead with 10:13 remaining in the second.
- Ackerman broke the River Hawks' silence late in the first half to make it 10-4, only for Scranton to tack on three mote before halftime to lead 13-4 at intermission.
- The home team continued to pour it on with four goals to start the second half for a 17-4 lead.
- Kieran Koenke got the River Hawks' lone goal of the third quarter as the score read 17-5 Scranton entering the fourth.
- The scoring subsided in the final quarter, though Scranton maintained its scoring advantage with two goals in the fourth to the River Hawks' one.
- Susquehanna's only goal for the fourth period came from Drew Filipovits.
