SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University field hockey head coach Allison Fordyce has introduced Lilly Cantabene as the River Hawks' new assistant coach. Cantabene comes to Susquehanna after a stellar career at Shippensburg University that culminated in winning the 2025 NCAA Division II national championship. 

With the Raiders they reached the NCAA Tournament all four years, winning the PSAC championship twice in 2024 and 2025 and reaching the NCAA championship game twice as well in 2022 and 2025. They hit paydirt with their most recent trip to the natty as Cantabene assisted the game-winning goal in Shippensburg's 3-2 overtime win over Newberry to claim the 2025 NCAA Division II national title. As the Raiders' forward Cantabene finished with 67 career points on 25 goals and 17 assists, including a team-high 29 points as a senior with 10 goals and nine assists. Ahead of their championship season Cantabene was bestowed the Amanda K. Strous Memorial Field Hockey Scholarship and was chosen to wear Strous' number-22 jersey in her memory. It served her well as Cantabene was named a First Team NFHCA All-American after receiving First Team All-Region and First Team All-PSAC. 

Cantabene graduated from Shippensburg this spring with a degree in Marketing with a concentration in Management.
