SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men's soccer team earned its second victory of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Immaculata University, 2-1, at Sassafras Field. Both sides exchanged goals, with the River Hawks bookending theirs in the 15th minute and 69th minute, breaking the tie with both.
How It Went Down
- The River Hawks wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Joe Holmwood found the back of the net in the 15th minute off an assist from Quinn Winslow's corner to give Susquehanna a 1-0 lead.
- Immaculata answered early in the second half, with Carlos Garcia scoring in the 52nd minute to level the match at 1-1.
- Susquehanna responded just over 16 minutes later. Khalil McDonald scored his first goal of the season in the 69th minute to put the River Hawks back in front, 2-1.
- The River Hawk defense held strong over the final 22 minutes, keeping Immaculata off the scoreboard to secure the victory.
