SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna field hockey dropped a 2-0 decision to Alvernia Saturday afternoon at Sassafras Field.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Alvernia struck early, with Ava Michael finding the back of the cage just 2:36 into the contest off an assist from Kelsy McClintock.
- The River Hawks battled back and created several opportunities, but Alvernia goalkeeper Jazmin Mayfield kept Susquehanna off the scoreboard.
- Alvernia doubled its advantage early in the third quarter when Alessandra Stevens scored at 36:21, with Michael providing the assist.
- Susquehanna continued to apply pressure throughout the fourth quarter, generating eight shots and eight penalty corners, but could not break through.
- The River Hawks finished the afternoon with 11 shots, including eight on goal, while holding a 12-4 advantage in penalty corners.

- Taylor Rothermel led the River Hawks with five shots, including four on goal.
- Kiara Koeller added two shots, with one finding the target.
- Hannah Garlin and Sydney Jordan each recorded a shot on goal.
