Biography Banner

Ashtin Klingler Midkiff was added to the River Hawk field Hockey coaching staff in 2017 as an assistant coach. Midkiff has strong local ties to the community following stellar field hockey careers at Selinsgrove High School (Class of 2010) and Penn State University (Class of 2014).

She began her collegiate career at Syracuse University, helping the Orange win the 2010 Big East Championship before transferring to Penn State for her final three years. Midkiff was an All-Big Ten Second Team selection as a junior and senior as well as an NFHCA All-Mideast Region Second Team pick for those same two seasons. She was also a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree in 2012 and 2013. Midkiff finished her collegiate career with 28 goals and 61 points in 85 games played between Syracuse and Penn State (25 goals, 5 assists in 64 games).

At Selinsgrove H.S., she helped the Seals to a 23-2 record as a senior team captain and finished her career with 23 goals and 34 assists. Midkiff earned Daily Item All-Pennsylvania First Team and Heartland Athletic Conference Division I All-Star honors in 2008 and 2009. She was named the Rookie of the Year in 2006 and the MVP in 2008.

Midkiff was hired to teach and coach field hockey at Line Mountain Middle/High School. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in sport management at Lock Haven University.

Earned her Master's in sport management from Lock Haven University, while attaining her Bachelor's in physical education from Penn State University in 2014.
