Alan Zemaitis joined the Susquehanna coaching staff prior to the 2012 season. Zemaitis originally worked with the defensive backs and in 2015, he began coaching the cornerbacks while also serving as the special teams coordinator.

He is a former member of the National Football League's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and an All-Big Ten selection at Penn State University. The Rochester, N.Y., native also played for the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League.

Zemaitis played defensive back for the Nittany Lions from 2001-05 as a scholarship player. He was a 2005 Division I Associated Press All-American, who finished as a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation's top defensive back, in 2004 and 2005. He was a three-time All-Big Ten selection as well.

He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After retiring from professional football, Zemaitis served as the defensive back coach at East Lake (Fla.) H.S. and worked at the Schuman’s National Underclassmen Combine as a defensive backs specialist coach and evaluator.
