Jake Kulig joined the Susquehanna football coaching staff in 2017. In his first season, Kulig worked with the outside linebackers. He coached the defensive linemen in 2018. In both of his first two seasons, Kulig has mentored the team's Defensive Rookies of the Year in Craig Roumes '20 (2017) and Jhemir Stanley '21 (2018).

Kulig was a three-year letterwinner for the St. John Fisher College football program. As a defensive lineman, he helped the Cardinals to a 34-12 four-year record, including three straight ECAC Bowl appearances and one NCAA Tournament berth in 2013. St. John Fisher advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Football Championship in 2013. Kulig totaled 39 total tackles, including three tackles for a loss, in 25 games played. He also notched two sacks.

The Rochester, N.Y., native was an All-Monroe County selection at Aquinas Institute and helped the Little Irish to a New York State Championship in 2010 as a senior.
