Ryan Redfern '11, an accomplished golfer and two-sport student-athlete at Susquehanna in football, was named Head Men's Golf Coach in summer 2024. A familiar face on campus as he currently serves as the Assistant Registrar, Redfern is also a former student-athlete, having competed on the team from 2007 to 2011 and serving as team captain in 2011.

Redfern carries a career scoring average of 78.2 and was a Second Team All-Empire 8 selection in 2010, when the team also won the conference championship. He graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science and served as a coach and high school teacher in New Jersey for a number of years before returning to Susquehanna in 2018 to serve as an Assistant Football coach. From there, he began working as the Transitions and Completions Coordinator in the Center for Academic Success from 2018 to 2022, before transitioning into his current role as the Assistant Registrar.

Redfern came to Susquehanna after coaching football and basketball at Millburn H.S. in New Jersey. He was the head basketball coach for two seasons and was also the defensive coordinator for the football team. Redfern also taught social studies and business at nearby Union H.S. for seven years.

The Caldwell, N.J., native joined the Susquehanna football staff as an assistant coach in 2018 and worked primarily with the outside linebackers, helping coach a pair of River Hawks to All-Centennial Conference honors.
