Zach Sarginger joined the Susquehanna football staff in 2018 as the offensive line assistant coach. Sarginger guided a pair of River Hawks to All-Centennial Conference honors in his first season at SU.

The Pennsdale, Pa., native came to Susquehanna after six seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, East Stroudsburg University. He was a volunteer assistant coach for the Warriors from 2012 to 2015 working with both the running backs and the offensive line before taking over as the running backs coach for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. In 2016, Sarginger coached a pair of Football Gazette All-Region First Team selections in the offensive backfield.

A three-year starter at ESU, Sarginger started 33 games during his career as a Warrior, including starts at four of the five positions on the offensive line. He started all 11 games at right guard in 2009, started five games at right tackle and six at left tackle in 2010, and nine games at left tackle and two at left guard in 2011. As a senior, Sarginger was a member of an offensive line which led Division II in fewest tackles for loss per game (3.18, 35 in 11 games) and led the PSAC in passing (323.2 yards/game).

He did well in the classroom as well as he was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team in 2009.

Sarginger was an All-Pennsylvania First Team honoree as an offensive lineman for Muncy H.S. He was named the Northern Tier League Lineman of the Year as a junior and senior. Sarginger also claimed All-District First Team honors as an offensive linesman as well as All-Northern Tier League First Team accolades on both sides of the line during his final two seasons. In addition, he earned two letters in basketball and baseball.
